Fear of Failure and Public Speaking
A major reason why so many people are afraid of public speaking is the fear of failure. Concerned that someone might think differently of you if you fumble a speech. The reality is that you're just letting fear control you. There are many different opinions on how to use 'fear' to your advantage. Some people advocate embracing fear and using it for power and to recognize that it's just a part of you. Others think you should ignore it and brush it aside. Below is a link to an article from a local Washington paper discussing fear and one approach for dealing with it.
